Change of Use Permitted for King Edward VI College

On behalf of King Edward VI College, Stourbridge, CSJ Brooke Smith has successfully secured consent for the change of use of Medusa House, Stourbridge from office use (Class B1) to education use (Class D1).

The decision by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council granted permission for additional teaching space to supplement the first, second and third floors which are already occupied by the college for teaching and administrative purposes.

This approval is the latest in a line of successful planning consents which CSJ Brooke Smith have secured for the College, recent ones of which include full planning consent for Phase 1 and outline planning consent for Phases 2 and 3 for the comprehensive redevelopment and reorganisation of the main college campus. Due to the current funding issues and the role of the Learning and Skills Council, the implementation of these plans is currently the subject of ongoing discussions. The recent consent will therefore allow the college to expand its existing facilities whilst the earlier consents are implemented, helping the College remain one of the top academic establishments within the West Midlands.
