The Practice has recently gained consent for the provision of 20 residential mooring berths Lemonroyd site, near Leeds. The marina currently provides 85 leisure moorings, some of which have been used informally as primary residences for some time, contrary to the original planning consent for the marina.
To regularise the situation an application was submitted for a change of use of moorings to permit residential use on site. Extensive discussions were held with Leeds City Council, largely relating to the location of the site within the Green Belt.
Following this, the Practice was able to secure consent for residential use and successfully argued the case for not providing any s.106 contributions.
A similar scheme at Diglis Marina, Worcester, will be considered by Members in January. This application has an Officer’s recommendation for approval, which has been gained through our close working with Worcester City Council.
