The Green, Kings Norton Public Consultation (Now Closed)
PROPOSED NEW RETAIL / RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT – THE GREEN, KINGS NORTON
Central England Co-operative is proposing an exciting new development to include a new local food/retail unit by investing in alterations and extensions to buildings fronting The Green.
The intention is to retain, extend and enhance the existing buildings, which do not meet modern retail and commercial needs, to provide new retail space for the local community. The site’s appearance, particularly onto The Green, would be substantially improved.
In addition, it is proposed to provide new first floor living accommodation in the form of three flats. This will provide affordable accommodation within the heart of Kings Norton.
Designs are being prepared to replace the existing flat roof extensions with a building which would be sympathetic to the surrounding conservation area. It is also the intention to revise car parking on the site and provide off road delivery space, whilst enhancing the landscaping and pedestrian access, especially to Pershore Road South.
