Brooke Smith Planning secures consent for new housing scheme

The Practice has secured consent for 28 new homes in the North West. The houses are proposed on the site of a former Plumbase builders’ supplies depot in Bamber Bridge, near Preston. The Practice acted for building materials group and landowner Grafton Group in securing consent from South Ribble Borough Council for the redevelopment at the site. The development will see the demolition of the former depot and its offices to be replaced by the residential development, which will include eight affordable homes.

Feedback from the public consultation revealed strong support for changing the use of the land to housing. Emily Vyse said: “The scheme represents an efficient use of previously developed land and will provide much-needed homes to meet local demand.”

The consent comes on the back of similar consents for Grafton’s in Coventry, Statehouse (Gloustershire) and Tongwynlais (Cardiff). In addition to disposal of vacant sites, the Practice also advises Grafton on new and operational builds.
