Community Involvement

Community involvement is an essential part of the planning application process. Under the Localism legislation it will be a statutory requirement to involve local communities and interested parties. Indeed it is currently good planning practice to engage the local community when developing a scheme and this has been shown to be a key ingredient in the delivery of robust planning outcomes.

Consulting in advance of formally lodging planning applications can assist in the identification of local needs and problems, provide important feedback which can help shape an application or development and save valuable time during the processing of an application.

We prepare and implement Community Involvement Strategies and advise on the type of stakeholder and public consultation exercises required to support development proposals. We work with retained specialist consultants to facilitate and manage these strategies in-house.
